What evaluation may include
Your provider may ask about current stressors, symptom timing, mood, anxiety, sleep, functioning, safety, medical history, substance use, and previous treatment.
The point of the assessment is not to minimize what you are going through. It is to understand how the stress is affecting you and what kind of care may be most useful now.
Treatment planning
Medication may or may not be appropriate depending on the symptoms and clinical situation. Therapy, lifestyle changes, workplace adjustments, or other supports may be recommended when appropriate.
